“Where is American Literature Now?”: Contemporary Connections

These writings reveal how contemporary texts (such as films, speeches, songs, or advertisements) draw on or adapt American literature. They show how contemporary culture reshapes and remixes the themes, forms, and contexts of American literature. These readings offer provocative and unexpected answers to the questions: Where do we see American literary history in our world right now? And most importantly, why?
